Sasken offers its customers derivative design & development services which help the customer in the following areas

Expectations from Sasken for derivative services

• Baselined Master Chip
• Documentation availability on baselined version should be fair
• Transfer of Information on legacy chip to Sasken by customer
• Database availability for baselined version

Once the derivative version is signed-off between Sasken & customer, Sasken will perform the following

• Derivative team will create common development environment for each IP, the delta variation across derivates handled by the updating the required files and using tagged version for that particular derivative. In this way, team can have very less turn around time to support the derivates and there by can be able to meet any SLA’s. (Service level agreements)
• Team will document each derivative related information like release reports, enhancements planned/bug fixed, configuration specs very clearly so as to minimize the turn around time required to support the derivatives.
• Derivative team will develop automation scripts replacing manual tasks e.g. compilations, report collation, regression tests, dumps etc. to improve efficiency, quality & productivity of engineers

Derivative programs will always be upgraded to new tools and setup depending on the customer requirements so as to mitigate the risks of obsolete tools/versions/licenses. This will enable the team to maintain the derivative programs always stable and active.
