The Sasken Homecoming Policy

The purpose of this policy is to lay down the benefits that an employee is eligible for if he/she rejoins Sasken Communication Technologies Limited, within one calendar year of his/her exit from the company. It aims to encourage talent that has resigned from the services of the Company to return if they choose to do so.

Here is a brief look into the features of the policy:

This policy is applicable to all regular employees of Sasken Communication Technologies Limited, all its subsidiaries companies and branch offices in India, except Sasken Network Enterprises Ltd. However, the policy is not applicable to the employees whose services have been terminated for willful negligence of duties, breach of trust, gross indiscipline or any other serious dereliction of duties that may be prejudicial to the interests of the Company. This policy is also not applicable to employees who have exited the organization after the unsuccessful completion of Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Policy Statements:

  • The company reserves the right to amend, abrogate, modify, and / or rescind the policy or any part of it at any time.
  • Sasken will not discriminate in favor of or unfavorably towards any gender, caste, and creed or religion. Justice and fairness will be the guiding principles governing every decision related to this Policy.
  • All employees who join back within a year can come back to Sasken only under homecoming policy.
    • For the employees coming under Homecoming Policy, the following will be applicable
    • The employee may come back on the same role or in a different role based on the organization requirement
    • If there is a change in role, then the standard selection process will apply. This would mean that the employee needs to undergo the technical and HR interviews and if selected, then the offer shall be made. If there is no change in role, he/she will not be required to undergo the standard selection process as specified in the Recruitment process. However, an H.R. interview and additional selection input from the last reporting manager shall be mandatory. Final decision of making an offer to rejoin the Company shall rest with the concerned Site/Function Head & Head-HR.
    • A homecoming employee will be taken in the same band that he/she belonged to at the time of exit from Sasken.
    • The promotions for the homecoming employee will follow the normal promotion cycle, policy and process.
    • The salary compensation will remain the same for all homecoming employees. However, if he/she has missed a salary review cycle when he/she was not an employee of Sasken during the one year, then the salary would be reviewed at the time of joining back.
    •  The duration of service put in during the previous period of employment with Sasken shall be considered while calculating the eligibility period for certain benefits linked to the years of service, namely, Privilege Leave, Education and Sabbatical only. However, it will exclude the tenure based Service Awards and Gratuity, which depend not only on the duration of service but also on the continuity of the same.
  • All homecoming employees of Sasken will have to serve the probation period of 6 months subject to the conditions of probation laid down in the offer letter.
  • A homecoming employee can be given Joining Bonus only in case of payment of notice period pay to the previous employer.
  • There shall be no reissue of ESOPs granted earlier, nor any joining ESOP for the homecoming employees.
  • The Homecoming employee shall be assigned a new employee code when he/she rejoins the Company and shall be considered as a new joinee, for any other benefit.
  • In case the homecoming employee has come through an employee referral, no employee referral Bonus will be paid to the employee referring the homecoming employee.
