In 2007, Sasken partnered with a preferred handset manufacturer in the European market to create audio codecs for their chipsets. This partnership evolved into one where we moved on to designing, developing and implementing audio subsystems for their Consumer Electronics products for major players in the Consumer Electronics business. This included working on optical discs as well. Everyone knows how vast the most advanced optical disc’s audio subsystem is, with an enormous number of formats to work around.
When the audio big-wig first released the legendary optical disc, to no one’s surprise, it occupied over 70% market share!
We continued to work with several other leading players and big fish in the segment to create what was unknown to the world: unmatched audio and video quality, unparalleled movie viewing experience and abrand that is synonymous with ‘dvd’ today.

A device is only as great as what it allows you to do. Magazines, emails and newspapers bombard us with devicegreatness stories every day. Because it lets you do a lot more, right? So what is a ‘lot more’? And who makes a ‘lot more’?
We do. We contribute to the Greatness.
Sasken provides the world’s current most successful device the ‘Bluetooth over NFC’ capability. It in fact, sets the device apart from most other devices in the market today. This capability is what numerous market researchers predict will put a major handset player back in the winning.
People today do use Bluetooth headsets with mobile phones, although they are not the majority. It is most often seen on people who are constantly on the move, people who spend a major chunk of their time driving or riding.
The rest might not. Why?
This is all going to change. Sasken’s NFC IP will allow you to connect your Bluetooth headset to your device, just by a ‘tap’. No more battery draining issues and no more interruptions!

The Haiti earthquake that took place in 2010 was catastrophic. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake was followed by at least 52 aftershocks in the next 10 days.
Over three million people were affected by the quake; the Haitian government reported a colossal loss of life, commercial establishment and communication systems. In order to facilitate rebuilding of a massive scale, the priority was to establish communication.
Sasken swung into response to an emergency call from a local operator and provided 24/7 support until communication lines were restored. In 3 days.
We were a team that was well aware of the criticality of the situation and knew that immediate action was prime. Besides, our customers received updates from us every 4 hours. At the end of the third day, phone lines were back up in Haiti.
What did it mean to have phone lines up and running? It meant that help agencies could get in touch with the people whose homes were destroyed, that the government could get in touch with these agencies and business could come alive once again. And it finally meant that Haiti can finally get back on its feet and rebuild a happier time. Thanks to Sasken.
As network investigations were on, prior to a major football tournament in Spain, our team spotted a blip in the network that had the potential to wreak havoc during the event. Having identifies this, our engineers immediately actioned, averting major crisis.
What could have gone wrong?
Ground staff could not have gotten in touch with event organizers; enthusiasts would not have been able to place wagers and most of all, the media would not have been able to provide adequate coverage to the masses. Thanks to our team’s swift move into action, their passion and Sasken’s attention to serving its customers to their best capacity, the football league took place as planned, for the world to watch and enjoy.
