Sasken Test Process

By virtue of being a Qualcomm ATL, Sasken engineers are trained by the Qualcomm engineers, by which Sasken engineers are given an in-depth knowledge of the Qualcomm environment. This helps Sasken sort out all setup related issues (for ex: wrongly set NV parameters, PICS/ NV mismatch etc) in the lab. As we know, most of the problems reported by test labs end up in setup issue. This capability of Sasken

3GPP Conformance Testing and GCF certification

Sasken enables the semiconductor vendors and handset OEMs rapidly deploy quality cellular platforms/terminals by validating all GCF Approved Tests of:

• GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  
• SIM and SIM Tool Kit
  
• UMTS and HSPA+

Sasken leverages its vast product validation expertise acquired by maturing and commercializing its own protocol stack solutions over the years, along with best in class technical staff to enable successful launch of quality terminals into the market. Sasken labs are ISO/IEC 17025:2005** accredited to provide GCF certification for 2G/UMTS/HSPA protocol conformance. Sasken also offers pre-conformance test services for 2G & 3G protocol stacks. The test report along with the failure test case analysis enables semiconductor vendors to test their readiness to move for conformance testing.

ATL Certification

Qualcomm has created a test plan which is specifically meant for certifying phones for emerging markets, where currently there is no certification requirement. This initiative is planned towards providing fast forward certification for the ODM and operators, which will ensure quality without implying higher cost constraints.

Sasken being an ATL partner lab of Qualcomm, is authorized for providing this certification to ODMs, planning to launch phones in emerging markets. This approach is also planned for use in proven technologies such as GSM, even in evolved markets like USA.

Pre Network Vendor IOT

Sasken’s vast experience of testing in various Network Vendor Labs has propelled Sasken to start offering comprehensive Interoperability test suite beyond the conformance tests. We offer this in a simulated environment that validates terminals for field worthiness. Based on exhaustive Network Equipment Vendor Interoperability Tests experience and field trials across the globe, Sasken has developed test suite of:

• 600+ UMTS scenarios

Sasken’s pre-interoperability tests package ensures fewer trips to expensive Network Vendor Labs, provides a faster and economical path to successful Network Vendor interoperability Test, operator acceptance and field readiness across all major Network Vendor equipment.

Field Trials

Sasken views the need of FT at two levels

• Application level – to ensure phone works fine as a completely

  robust.

Sasken offers FT services across the globe on 2G/3G networks for semiconductor companies and handset OEMs. Sasken Field Trials services include :

These Field Trials services typically involve Sasken working closely with the baseband platform vendor, the handset OEM and based onneed, interact with the local operator. Thus, Sasken offers a one stop Field Trial solution to its customers by helping them with developing Field Trial Plan, carrying out Field Trials using sophisticated reference/log analysis tools, carry out defect localization and track the defect through its life cycle for successful closure.
