Sasken Application Framework is aimed at the Feature Phone market and for the first time enables customers to create differentiated mobile phones by enabling software reuse and portability across phone designs and platforms. The innovative and smart design, along with the extensive tool suite, simplifies the handset manufacturers’ ability to add and remove features in accordance with the segment of the market that they wish to address with their phones. It enables OEMs and ODMs to customise the look and feel of the phones within short time spans without disturbing the underlying software logic. The solution leverages Sasken’s proven strengths in multimedia, enabling rich media experience on feature phones without the need for additional co-processors, and there-by reducing the manufacturers’ BOM cost.

Using The Sasken Application Framework, we develop pre-integrated full phone software solutions, validated on multiple semiconductor partner platforms, cutting down the customers’ time to launch phone models. In addition, customers can source their entire software solution with a single licensing contract while retaining the ability to plug in components of their choice, with minimal impact on system integrity.

The Comprehensive PC based development tool suite comprises of MMI Builder, SDK and PC Emulator, Network Simulator and Validation Suite. These enable quick and efficient development, customisation and testing of applications and MMI in an off-target environment, while maintaining consistency with the solution for the final target.
Sasken Application Framework has been integrated with multiple modems. The framework exposes interfaces to the modem and provides abstraction towards both the control and data interfaces of the modem. These support the AT command as well as API interfaces from the modem and data transfer mechanisms allowing easy integration with a new modem.
