For any organization, meeting the training needs of a geographically spread workforce through the traditional classroom training mode is expensive and time consuming. Further, the qualitative effectiveness of such training has been and is still uncertain. So how can an organization reduce costs and still ensure quality training for its employees who need training to master:
- Features of a new product
- Adoption of specific software
- Internal processes of the organization
- New sales techniques of the organization
The e-learning division of Sasken Knowledge Solutions Center (SKSC) is strategically placed to provide such solutions. We have the skills and capabilities to provide effective and long lasting learning experience for employees of your organization.
We create I-N-D-E-L-I-B-L-E learning solutions to help your employees retain knowledge that would inspire them to grow and move toward their goals. We achieve results by using the following approach:
Instructional Design
We develop customized e-learning courses based on the instructional and visual design methodologies that best suit your learning needs. We lay emphasis on ADDIE, Keller’s ARCS model, Gagne’s Nine Instructional Events, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and the famous Dale’s Cone of Experience. We develop content in a style that is also consistent with the culture and norms of your organization. Our visual design approach maps to the storyboard requirements and theories and principles of classic graphic design. Our team comprises:
- Highly skilled Instructional Designers
- Creative Graphic Designers
- Experienced Project Managers
- Experienced ID Reviewers and Editors
Needs Analysis
We do thorough learning needs analysis – both target audience and task analysis – before we begin production. We do this to ensure that our solutions meet the training or business needs of your organization in the most appropriate way. Some of the focus areas of analysis are:
- Background in subject – learners’ past exposure to the subject, relevant experience, any prejudice or belief on the subject
- Demography – learners’ location, age-group, number, gender etc
- Limitations – learners’ preferred learning styles vis-à-vis their social and cultural backgrounds
- Motivation levels – reasons for learners’ taking a course, how relevant is the course for them, their expectations from the course, and is their participation in the course voluntary or forced
- Skill-gap – areas of improvement for learners with emphasis on closing the skill-gap for their current or future roles
Deliverable-centered
We have more than one e-learning product type to offer and deliver. Based on the learning needs of your organization, we can deliver the type of training curriculum that would be most appropriate. Depending on the complexity of content and learning requirements, we can deliver Instructor-led Training such as ILT1, ILT2, ILT3; and Web-based Training such as WBT1, WBT2, WBT3, and more.
After a deliverable type is decided and agreed upon, our focus remains on the specifications of that deliverable type only. However, if we feel we can add value to a deliverable type by incorporating a specification or two from some other deliverable type, we do provide that after discussing with our clients.
Engaging media
We try hard to successfully understand the psychology of learners because that is the key to developing relevant and engaging learning content. We use the features of various media to present content in a way that strikes the audio and visual senses of learners. We also develop knowledge check and interactivities that require learners to stay engaged with a course to complete it successfully.
We emphasize on facilitating explanatory or exploratory learning through audio. The animations, static graphics, and on-screen text are synched to support the voice over to maintain learners’ engagement. However, we ensure that the voice over, text, and visual elements complement each other and not present the same information simultaneously.
Learner-controlled
We develop courses for the learners, and let them have a control over it. We develop learning simulations and scenarios based on the learning that happens prior to a learner reaching this page. These simulations and scenarios are presented on a risk-free environment so that learners can safely make mistakes and learn.
We have this learner-controlled approach because we believe we learn valuable lessons from the mistakes we make. We further believe that through a learner-controlled approach, we help learners transfer knowledge to the work environment in much more effective way, resulting in performance improvement.
Innovative strategies
Learners may or may not have experienced certain situations in real life. So we have innovative strategies to create scenarios and simulations that bring learners closer to real-life situations. Our innovative designers can recreate complex environments to mirror real-life situations or systems.
We create scenarios and simulations based on situations that are practical and work-based for the target audience. Our strategy is to encourage learners solve a series of business or other real-world challenges using those scenarios and simulations. Our approach makes learners explore a given situation, evaluate the options provided, take the best possible decision, and perform actions that affect the simulation flow and learners’ position.
Blended methods
We are always open to exploring possibilities of developing and delivering blended learning solutions. Employees of some organizations may prefer a mix of classroom and web-based training that may or may not include simulations. To meet the blended learning requirements, we can develop and deliver a very well-structured ILT and also provide follow-up learning content online.
Latest technology
We use latest tools and technologies to develop courses. We generally use Flash-XML architectures that can run on standard browsers. Our courses can be easily maintained and updated because of the simplicity of their technical design and structure. We can also develop courses using authoring tools that you may suggest as per your organization’s policies, culture, and technical familiarity.
Easy to integrate
Our courses are easy to integrate into any standards-compliant Learning management System (LMS). Our learning solutions are AICC and SCORM compliant. We have a team that has experience in integrating courseware solutions into the latest versions of various LMS.
