Platform Competency Centre(PCC) is essentially a talent-pool of Engineers created to address the R&D needs of customers.
The Competency Centre usually become incubation hubs for Offshore Development centres for our customers. The services offered through these centres support the chipset vendor as well as the end-customer (OEM) in customization, bug-fixing, and various other activities.
Sasken is capable of executing Proof-Of-Concept projects, R&D Projects and customization projects for the semicon/ platform vendors through Platform Competency Centre and Offshore Development Centre.
Consumer Platform Competency Centre
Sasken is actively involved with Silicon Chipset companies in enabling their platforms, targeted at consumer markets. The product lines typically are Set Top Box, Portable Audio / Video Players, Digital Cameras and HDTV.
Sasken offers end-to-end services, comprising Pre-silicon validation, OS / BSP, Middleware, Applications and Systems Integration, for various Consumer devices.
Sasken is the only Indian company certified as a Consumer Home Partner for one of the Tier-1 global Semiconductor companies and is incubating two other Competency Centres for a leading North American Chipset company and a Japanese Semiconductor company.
Mobile Platform Competency Centre
Mobile Platform Competency Centre is similar to Consumer Competency Centre, but the difference lays in Communication stacks, Multimedia components and the target applications.
Mobile Platform Competency Centre offers End-to-End services. Being leaders in Protocol Stacks Services, Sasken, currently, is working with two Tier-1 Silicon companies on GSM / GPRS, UMTS & WCDMA protocol stacks.
Sasken understands the key requirements, challenges and the intricacies of power management, application management, and componentization for a Mobile Communication device. |
