Maintained business continuity in developing satellite terminal applications

Customer: Japan’s largest mobile phone operator

We are responsible for managing the development of satellite terminal applications on iOS and Android platforms for our customer. We readied our team for WFH a week prior to the official lockdown announcement, ensuring the team members had the necessary laptops, remote server access, and testing devices; a feat made possible by the tireless efforts of our IT and Facility Management teams.

During the lockdown, we initially faced network related issues and dependencies on hardware located in another facility. Sasken’s cross functional teamwork ensured the procuring of necessary documentation to approve the movement of this material, which included a wide variety of hardware necessary for our work. This enabled the successful transition of our office lab to engineers’ homes.

We also faced initial challenges in procuring Apple devices necessary for our development needs, via online vendors. The Procurement team at Sasken proactively worked towards solving this by getting in touch with local vendors to ensure on-time delivery of devices. Our team has also been leveraging video conferencing and is constantly in touch, ensuring we overcome all challenges and stay motivated throughout.
