Scope
Customer wanted to move their Bluetooth Centre of Excellence from the European Centre to their Indian Centre. Sasken with more than a decade of experience and expertise in Bluetooth, having contributed to Bluetooth SIG, provided the right fit for owning the Bluetooth stack and applications for multiple production programs across the globe.
Solution
- Productization on five product lines of customer, currently supporting two product lines of customer
- Complete Bluetooth Interoperability Testing on product lines
- Upgrading to BT 4.0 and HFP 1.6, AVRCP 1.5, A2DP profiles
- Stack Certification
- Release management, fixing issues from customers, UPF, IoP, internal test teams
- Enhancements for AVRCP browsing, SPP, BLE and Dual HFP support
- Customer requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, releasing and error correction
- Enhancement and maintenance of the Bluetooth application framework across different regions (Asia Pacific, America, & Europe) because each of these regions uses different BT application frameworks
- Apple certification changes and support for all projects
Impact
Sasken was able to support multiple product lines, providing quicker responses to OEMs, and reduced costs. This made the customer move the CarPlay and MirrorLink ownership responsibilities to Sasken as well.
