Sasken recently worked on providing a digital key management solution for a German transportation company. The project involved authenticating terminal validators used in public transportation before they communicated with the back-office fare collection systems. Sasken picked an appropriate Hardware Security Module (HSM) for terminal root key generation, designed, and developed the Terminal Management Server and performed the necessary integration testing. The team also prepared system test plans and manuals which ensured the final solution was compliant with Federal Information Processing Standards provided by NIST and RFCs from the customer. These efforts helped in the expansion of the customer’s presence in the Netherlands market.
