Sasken bags patent in Automatic Gain Control of Speech Signals

Sasken has received an Indian patent for inventing a method to maintain desired audible levels in voice communication systems. This innovation will significantly help tame variation in speech levels and automatically control the gain of signal. The Automatic Gain Control System (AGC) will process speech signals to provide a measured and controlled signal amplitude output, despite variation of the amplitude in input signals. This will be achieved using an efficient gain calculation method based on energy computation and speech activity estimation. The AGC is advantageous because the system can automatically adjust itself based on environmental interferences to give the best sound output. Sasken also holds a US patent under the same topic.
